Been invited by a fellow colleague to join Facebook.. a new social utility with many interactive applications that enable friends to have a more enjoyable time online... hahahha.... I've sent invitations to a couple of friends and hope that they'll respond...
Have tried out playing the applications... it seems quite fun... think i especially like the scissors, paper, stone application where i get to challenge and be challenged by friends.... almost like we're face to face playing the childhood game.... it's pretty fun... though the replies may not be always spontaneous... but it's still kinda fun.... First online purchase
I recently made my mind and had my first online purchase.... I had been looking around in the usual music shops e.g. HMV, Sembawang and Music junction for the concert vcds/dvds for a few of my favourtie japanese artistes such as Kinki kids and w-inds.
But after looking around for sometime, i couldn't find the recent tours for Ageha and Thanks... so i decided to get these online... Though my brother was going to Taiwan for NS training... he couldn't buy back any cds/dvds... so couldn't really get him to help me look and buy.... that's why i decided to get them online.... i knew that it wouldn't be cheap, afterall the dvds are direct imports from Japan... plus the shipping charges... dun think i should reveal the total amounts i paid... I told zx about and apparently his reponse was why would i spend so much money on somethings that are not entirely useful....
And because of this online purchase, i've been to the post office to make my 1st foreign money order... although i have a credit card, i didn't really want to utilise it.... hahhahaha... and i wanted to try something different.... it was quite an experience for me... though it will take longer and i anticipate that i will receive my purchase at least 3 weeks later... but i thought it's pretty ok.... anyways, now just waiting to get my goods....

Going peers??
Recently have heard through the grapevine in office that some colleagues have tendered in their resignations... and there has been a few deliberations on who the colleagues are... as the resignation had been quite secretive and that so far no one else had openly expressed their intention to leave....
This has been stirring up commotion amongst my peers.... We all understand that it is not really easy to continue to work in this environment and that it is one of the most high turnover jobs in the work industry, i think..... But anyways, close friends have been saying that currently the job market has been good and that it's a good chance to get a good job without getting much pay cut.. I think it's not wrong to keep a look-out for better jobs out there.... but it's a matter of whether i can meet with a job that i would like to do.... Seriously, i have been thinking of leaving my job... but as i still dont' have a specific direction to go into... it's even harder to focus on job finding... hahahha....
This week had been a busy week where i had to do 2 work shifts, in the day being my current plotted engagement and at night to clear my previous engagement.... hehz... and i din manage to catch any of the shows that i wanted to watch e.g. Top model and Built for disaster.....
Hehz... just hope that next week will be a better week ne.....

Redang
So much happened before i can report on my redang trip.... Here i go rambling on my first trip to Pulau Redang.
It all started from the coach ride beginning at Golden Mile Complex at 10.30pm... it was the beginning of a long road trip to reach Pulau Redang. We're staying at Laguna Redang which is not a bad resort... with quite a lot of facilities and maybe slightly pricier than other resorts...but still cheaper than Berjaya i think.... There is travelling season to get to Redang where the waters are not so choppy and the resorts are in operation: the no-go season is from i think October till March....
Anyway, Pulau Redang is made famous i think by the Chinese Movie by Richie Yen and Sammi Cheng. And at the resort, there was a dedicated channel that airs the movie 24/7 non-stop.... Me and ZX were pretty amazed that at our 2 nights stay that we managed to catch the ending of the show 7 times.... hahhaha... talk about repeats.

The shop is now turned into the only convenience store selling snacks, drinks and also souvenirs for visitors to buy home.
The scenery and the surroundings are definitely very beautiful.

After travelling on the coach from 10.30pm to next day morn's 9am, we finally reach the jetty where we had to transfer to a ferry to make our way to the resort/ Pulau Redang which takes about 45mins.
On Redang island, there are quite a number of resorts situated in various but mainly on the outskirts near to the beach area. Snorkeling and diving are one of activities that all visitors should try out. Me and ZX did one snorkeling trip at the marine park where there are lots of fish and also corals... It was pretty sad that i did have any equipment with me that i can bring my digital camera into the waters to take pictures of the marine life. As we all had to wear life jackets and the waters are not so deep, even those who don't know how to swim can also enjoy snorkeling... Everyday, there are 2 sessions of snorkeling trip: 1 beginning at 9am and the other beginning at 2pm. The afternoon session is snorkeling in the open sea whilst the one in the morning is a trip to the marine park. But before we go to the marine park, we need to pay 5 ringgit for the marine park conservation fee.

The resort provides buffet - style meals from breakfast to dinner. And on alternate nights, bbq food eg bbqed fishes, chicken and etc is served. And i think the food served is actually not bad. One cute thing i noted is that during lunch and dinner time, seats will be allocated to the guests so that everyone gets a seat and do not have to worry about needing to chop seats and stuff.... the staff there will help to clear the dishes away just like those buffet restaurants in SG..... Fish is a big attraction so they are always one of the fastest dishes to run out of supplies.

The weather is pretty good and has nice cool breezes in the evening... There's also live band performances on the beach front entertaining guests who are dining at the bar. The performers were quite talented and belted out songs of various languages from chinese, hokkien, japanese to english songs.
On the beach resort, there are lots of visitors and also lots who wore bikinis for suntanning. I,too, brought my newly bought bikini to Redang so that i can have a good tan... but since i didn't really suntan for long... i did not really get very dark.... but i was kinda nervous when i wore on bikini on the beach and in the swimming pool..... but i guess maybe its because the surrounding guests were mainly wearing bikinis regardless of their figures that i manage to gather my courage to wear my bikini in public... hahhaha...
To conclude, it was an enjoyable place to be at, perfect for relaxation... but maybe 2 nights stay is slightly short and 3 nights may have been a better choice... Probably, in future, may go there again with ZX for another trip at Redang. But the only thing that's not so attractive maybe the long bus journey.... hahahha

I'm sick
In a long time since i've started working... i haven't been sick enough to get mc from the doctor... And today or actually it was yesterday that i had a high fever of 38.4 degree celsius that the doctor gave me 2 days mc....
On top of the usual questions, the doctor also asked if i had any joints pain and stuff, since there were a few cases of dengue fever near my place.... but anyways, usually when i get sick, zx would scold me for not taking good care of myself.
But this time round, i din get any scolding... possibly cos it's really been a while since i got sick. This time round, it is also an opportunity to renew the antibodies in my body...
While i msged az that i was sick and would be on mc for today and tml, az told me that she's also sick and may not turn up for work..so it came to me that probably it's the curse of the job that we've been working on... hahhaha.... but luckily we haven't started any fieldwork.... Why do we think it may be the curse of the job? last year while working on the job, almost everyone got sick for a few days.....

New baby!!!
Quoting from ZX, my new baby is born yesterday after much delibration and comparison.. and not to mention the amount of braincells killed and aching legs from walking to and fro.. Also the lack of drinking enough water....
I've finally replaced my old fujitsu laptop with this new one that i got yesterday at Comex 2007. It's LG R405-SP22A3. See the pic below:
It's suppose to be a performance notebook with almost all up-to-date specs and the freebies that i got included the office 2007 home and student edition with 3 licensees... which i thot was quite critical since most of the laptops only came with 60 day office trial.... Got the laptop at around $2.2k including GST.... Though my inital plan was to get a smaller laptop but apparently there weren't many smaller sized laptops that had the specs and fall within my budget... hahah... the smaller they are and more specs, the more expensive they were....
But as usual, there were tons and tons of people visiting the Comex exhibition and not to forget the buyers out there searching for their bargain purchase...... Hope many found good deals... For me, thot this time round i had to take chances with a tinge of risk.... hahha... my final decision was to be made between LG and the Toshiba M600....which were 2 brands which i had never used before and of cos friends have also not used the brands before. Nevertheless, though in the end i decided on the pricier one... but since it had better specs and also the office with 3 licenses.. i thot it was an ok buy... so for now... it's the time for me to try out the laptop and ascertain whether it was actually a good buy... hehheheheh...

Quick update again!
Had wanted to update my blog since my trip back from Redang but unfortunately that my laptop had officially died on me on the day after my return from my holiday trip... hence the delay in me posting my entries....
Ever since i'm back, the following events took place:
1. A new handphone!
I bought a new handphone and changed my phone plan from classic to ione plus meaning now i had free incoming phone calls.....
The new phone was samsung's D900i or otherwise known as Ultra 12.9 edition. It looks stylish and is a sliding phone....however i couldn't hang anything on it as there weren't any areas for hanging... my only form of customisation was on the back of the phone that is filled with my POT and some naruto handphone stickers.
2. My dearest's convocation ceremony
It was a fine day for convocation just that before the ceremony i had to attend a client's meeting in the morning. Though there was rain when i was rushing home from the client's place, i had sufficient time to take my lunch and change and still made it in time to meet zx and his mum for his convocation. It was definitely a day of photo taking and it was pretty tiring to be walking around in campus and taking photos.... luckily the weather was good.
It was a long time since i've been back to school anyways... but the convocation ceremony was pretty much the same... similar to what i attended two years ago when i had my convocation.
3. Attended colleague's wedding
Attended to my colleague's wedding dinner on the weekend and frankly it was my first attendance at the wedding of a friend/colleague..... it was pretty exciting for me... and the wedding dinner was held at Four Seasons Hotel. As it was my first wedding dinner attendance, i didn't really know what to expect... Overall, the food and service was good... and the liveband too... they sounded really good almost like cd recording..... And it was really happy to see my colleague so happily married.... hehhhe.... But boy i do wonder how much the wedding dinner cost.... hahhahahha it seemed kinda tough on the wallets..... ehhehehe
4. Long awaited k-lunch session with oph and px
It's been really a while since i last sang ktv with friends and it was really a good chance when OPH is still having a break before her new job starts and px too having a break.... we sang our hearts out from 11am to 2 pm whilst enjoying a good lunch....
heheheh.... think it's always a good deal to have k-lunch at cck's k-box... the lunch is really good..... hehhehe
5. Firm's annual sports day
It's the firm's annual sports day and before that i had volunteered to take part in the girls 3 x 3 basketball... but on the actual day... it seemed that i didn't really participate... hahahah... anyways the whole day was full of running.. rushing and waiting for events to start.. and after the event, it was all sore arms, legs and back... hadn't done a proper warm up as i was rushed to start in the netball game which i initially didn't want to play....it wasn't really a good game... i thot... be it me not physically ready for it and also not prepared enough for a well co-ordinated game with team mates whom i met only for 30 seconds..... anyways, it was pretty cool that our unit's volleyball team came out tops... hhahaha....
So far, these are the major events that had taken place before this blog entry... Well, i'm gonna get my replacement laptop soon during the month end's comex.... so soon i'll be back blogging on my new toy/sidekick.....

Packing
Well, i started packing my stuff for tml nite's trip on monday... but think i'm still not quite satisfied with my packing... think i could be even more compact. But still, i still have some things not yet packed in... anyways, before tml nite, still have time for some repacking... hahahah...Just doesn't want my bag to appear too big... since it's only the beginning... hopefully i can still pack in all my stuff when it's time to come home....
Anyways, think tml i'll get the suits that i bought but is subjected to alterations at Bukit Timah shopping center... the other weekend when I and zx were just walking around in Bukit Timah before our dinner... stumbled upon this shop that sells suits that have slightly different designs.. not bad looking ones... tried on two suits and in the end bought the two that i tried. Think it's not as expensive as the suits that i've bought at G2000... this time got a matching jacket, skirt and pants ...but it's definitely still cheaper at G2000... while i was trying out the jacket.. the auntie at the shop was commenting that there was ever a customer who bought 9 suits all at one time... crazy... i guess... and probably the customer is not a newbie who just stepped into the workforce...

Long awaited holidays...
Yeah.... finally...i'm on my official leave le... though there are still some work to be done and i have to go back to office to clear them... i'm still pretty happy that i'm on leave again....and just yesterday... went to outram park and booked a short trip to pulau redang with zx....
i'm getting pretty excited about the trip. Got my bikini and backpack yesterday... maybe just a few more beachwear to get along before i go on my trip on weds nite... hhheheh... though it's a long journey there.. i hope that me and zx can have a good time at the beach....pictures on the websites introducing the island all look damn pretty... and hopefully i can capture these pretty pictures too....
this time think me and zx will be better prepared for fun at a beach resort. our last trip at langkawi was pretty rushed and we din really think of wat to do there.. .and in the end, we actually din do much... so this time, think we can do it better... and think the resort we're going to.. appears to be quite comfortable... okie.. there's a suggestion to watch for sunrise... so maybe will sacrifice a bit of my sleep to look at the sunrise.... wahahah...
think i may be getting a bit too excited... will post up some pictures after my trip and also share some of my experience there...

Update of the weekend:
One week training has past and of cos during training.. got to know some new s4s at the same table and it appears that my table had managed to emerge tops of the various tables in relation to the answering of questions. Thot the quiz on "how well u know the company" is kinda interesting as it prompted us to think about the relevant people in charge of the various units and also what were some of the general statistics of the firm.
Other than the "boring" 1 week training, i also got to know my portfolio that was allocated to me. Of cos, there was no surprise for my dec engagement but there was a group of companies which i definitely did not want to touch for my march year end or rather what i'm currently doing now... as it appears to have no end for one of the entities... which i immediately told my manager that i did not want to take on the engagement. And while my manager tried to convince me, he asked me on my tolerance level of taking the engagement with 1 being ok and 5 being if u give me, i'll quit... naturally, wanting to make my stand clear, i told him 5...... hehz...i dun regret telling him that but it just seems that my refusal has kinda made me look like a selfish kid who couldn't take up the challenge... hahahha.... but anyways... i dun really care at the moment... i'll just do whatever i need to for my current portfolio....
Yesterday, met up with Tao Lei and wife, glad to meet up with them after so long... slightly more than half a year ago and also to know that they're doing well... it's a pity that xmo couldn't make it as he had to work....like what zx said, the next gathering meet-up may be another 3 mths time... hahha... maybe near x'mas or something like that..... hhahha
One week training has past and of cos during training.. got to know some new s4s at the same table and it appears that my table had managed to emerge tops of the various tables in relation to the answering of questions. Thot the quiz on "how well u know the company" is kinda interesting as it prompted us to think about the relevant people in charge of the various units and also what were some of the general statistics of the firm.
Other than the "boring" 1 week training, i also got to know my portfolio that was allocated to me. Of cos, there was no surprise for my dec engagement but there was a group of companies which i definitely did not want to touch for my march year end or rather what i'm currently doing now... as it appears to have no end for one of the entities... which i immediately told my manager that i did not want to take on the engagement. Hmmm.... officially, GST hike
Today's the day that the new GST of 7% is taking effect, did everyone got most of what they wanted before the increased GST??
Well, thot i've got a couple of things that i wanted before the GST hike but essentially think i still need to get a few more stuff...hahhaa.... nevertheless, the GST hike was a rather good reason to do lots more shopping than before.... hahaha...
Actually, I just bought a home shredder.... cos i have kinda lots of things to shred like letters from banks, cpf board... and other stuff which i think are rather important documents that cannot be thrown away without shredding.. .call me over-insecured but i do believe that there might be possibility if such documents containing important information are not disposed off properly may be made used by certain people.... especially when we're living in such a high tech world....
Today while looking around in Courts at Woodlands, saw the new lenovo-disney laptop which is pretty cute.... hahha... wonder if i should try to get that as my next replacement laptop... hahhah... but i haven't got the specs nor the prices... so probably would just kiv the item till the need or when i'm seriously considering getting a new laptop..... Hopefully my current laptop could at least last until the next PC show or IT show where i can get a good laptop at reasonable prices plus lots of freebies.... hahahha
My nose has been acting weird again for the day, every time when there's a change of temperature i.e. from the aircon bus to the street or from the street to the air-con department store.... it just had to sneeze for a good 10 times i think.... before it finally settles.... does this mark the beginning of a sick me????? i hope it wun be.. cos i've having training for 1 week first......
Today's aim of going to Woodlands was also to take a look and consider what toys to buy for zx's nephew... he was thinking of maybe getting a transformer toy... but at the metro toy section, it seemed that there weren't much selection left to fit our budget.... guess that there might be a quick purchase craze of the toys before today......
Nevertheless, the toy for the birthday boy was still undecided... and we shall see if we can manage to get a satisfactory toy that is fun to play and is not too dangerous to the birthday boy's 2 year old brother... heheh... think it may be a challenge....

New pay, bonus for the work year and new responsibilities
Just got my promotion letter as well as the notification of the ex-gratia amounts that was given to me for my my work performance.
The amounts are actually within my personal expectation and according to my colleagues, the amounts given are based on the performance grade given. Well, of course, i do hear from other colleagues who mentioned that other people from other units do not appear to be happy about their bonuses. Of cos, expectations are personal opinions and they differ from individuals.
But this is a big event that most colleagues anticipate and it's also a indication of whether they are happy in the firm or should there move on to another firm....
Anyways, as promised with JP and THS, will treat them to something after getting bonus......And not to forget all the relevant purchases that I've planned with my bonus.... hehhheheh

Me, tech geek??
Just yesterday, I bought a new 2gb mp3 player - Zen stone plus (white colour). It cost $99 which i thought was quite alright....See picture below for my zen stone plus...
Think it's a difference in the no. of songs between the new mp3 player compared to the one i own before this purchase. 128 mb vs 2 gb... hahhaha..... wonder how long it'll take for me to finish listening to all the tracks that i've loaded into the new mp3....

Summary
Just got my new haircut on saturday before the dinner meet-up with yun, val, mei and xuan. Thot of cutting my hair due to the my dried hair ends as a result of my previous perming and dying in addition to the terribly hot and humid weather.
But think my hair turned out alright.... hahha.... I tried asking for comments from my boyfriend.. but it seemed that he din have any comments since he had seen me with various hairlengths, from as short as boy cut to the longest length that i've ever had. hhehe...
The promotion list has just been released and congrats to all friends who have been promoted and bonus is to be based on the revised salary amounts since Jan'07. It's a good thing to hear that the bonus was to be based on the revised salary amounts, however, just wonder how many months will the bonus be? Still wondering how much will my bonus be this year cos i have some plans on how to spend it.... of course, the bulk of the money will have to be saved up... thereafter I would want to upgrade to a new handphone and maybe change to a incoming free plan, and also allocate a portion of the money for the purchase of my new laptop... well, have a laptop in mind actually... but currently is still thinking about the timing of the purchase... whether to get it at the PC shows if any at year-end or should i get it soon???
And also also considering if i should get a new mp3 player? such as the creative zen stone....but then again, there's still the consideration of colours.... judging from the various plans, it seems like i have rather materialistic plans for my bonus money.... hahahah..... i wonder if it's enough...

Rainy Saturday
The weather wasn't too bright and soon after we board the bus at Eunos.. the weather continued to look gloomy and we decided that probably a day of activities to be enjoyed in a sunny weather wasn't going to happen.... Our tanning objective wasn't going to be achieved.... and sure enough, it started to drizzle and gradually emerge to be a huge rainstorm....
By then, we had already settled down in Burger King going to eat our lunch... and of course, did some mindless shopping i guess.... but at the same time manage to spot potential laptop model that i could consider buying..... well.. as to what my final decision maybe... may have to wait for some time in the future... after my bonus maybe....
but other than laptop, i also found my potential new phone model to get when i finally decide to change my mobile plan and also upgrade my phone. heehee... it's potentially going to be a samsung again... but this time it may well likely be a sliding phone... as i haven't made my purchase yet.... everything is not final....hehehe...
after some walking around, finally decided to go to Broadway to get zx's convo gown and where he also decided to get the photography package. hehhe.. Anyway, I noted that the new gowns have velcro on them to help ensure that the gown is neat and the gown "sash" is not easily moved...hehz... which is something which i din have during the time when i was convocating.... anyway... Since zx is graduating, we were going to realise our promise to have a convo pictures taken in the studio.... hahhah....
By the way, been getting quite restless at work... haven't had the drive currently to push for work excellence...ahhaha... wonder if it's due to the want to have my vacation soon..... and training to going to start soon.... i definitely want to get some rest and holidays soon..... but i wonder if my planned holidays need to be adjusted... hehhz... currently just struggling to wait for my first 2 weeks of holidays to arrive.....

Another new start
Yupz... it's a new blog skin... but this time I've reverted back to the blog templates available in blogger instead of using the other blogskins that others have created and also the anime skins that I've previously used... hehhe.... guess I'm just a little too lazy to do any editing and searching...hahah...
Anyways, I've recently started another blog on my hobbies (趣味 pronunced as shu mi ) and have already posted some entries le... hahah... Friends or anyone who has the time can pop around and post some comments.....
Ok... it's slowly moving into the off - peak season... so think I should be able to post more blog entries... hhaha....meaning more time for me to do some self-reflections and also to do some planning.... still awaiting for holidays to come....
Since the start of GSS, have bought quite a couple of items and I do foresee that I'm going to buy some more items... hahah....Probably some more clothes, shoes and bags during the sale... of cos, i need to declare that I'm still in the search of a one-piece dress.... hahaha... Haven't seen anything that has prompted me to buy...hahah...
And for the past weekend, I also managed to get some time to surf youtube to catch up on some domoto kyoudai videos that others have uploaded. For those who may remember, before channel u there was a subsidiary channel set up by medicorp that airs the programme and also other jap programmes which was pretty short-lived. Essentially, domoto kyoudai is a variety programme hosted by kinki kids and they have guests on their show and they talk to the guests and get to know them.... Usually, kinki kids would have quite a few funny moments and funny talk.... and also interaction with their co-stars... Really kinda missed those days where tv actually aired these programs...haha....
On youtube, i managed to find a music video for this old english retro funky track called "mama used to say" by Junior. It's a funky tune that props you to lighten up... and actually the message in the song is kind of meaningful too... the chorus goes " And mama used to say, Take your time, young man... Mama used to say, Don't you rush to get old... Mama used to say, Take it in your stride... Mama used to say, Live your life... "

Finally... back to normal....
hahaha....
Finally when i tried to retrieve my legacy account on blogspot... think previously when i tried to reclaim... there were some glitches and in the end, I created two more blogspots... and now i dunno what to do with them....hahaha....
maybe i can do some other special blogging sessions... like my anime reviews and stuff... anyway, it's great to be able to get my old blog back... hahah = )
And right now, it seems that my current engagement does not appear to be too rushed... or rather the client is not rushing...hahah... so it's kinda rubbing on the engagement mood...hahha... and somemore client's situated in town where there's various shopping avenues readily available...... ahahha... and somemore GREAT Singapore SAle is starting real soon.... hahah
Anyway, hoping that it'll be my off peak soon..... I wanna go on holiday ne.... 休みしたい.......Want to be free and lazing around in my house or enjoy a relaxed afternoon window shopping or be at the seaside cycling with my boyfriend.... hehheh...

New updates......
Yo... minna genki??
It's me again blogging on a saturday... finally on a weekend where i can do some of my personal stuff... heheh.... today i've went to the salon downstairs to cut my hair... now my hairstyle's somewhat like what i had maybe in jc period as per my AH LU.... hahhaha.... think it's still ok ba.... my hair's pretty dried and fried after my perming and hair dying stint... so i thought i might as well cut off the drying roots... and let my hair grow again.....
Updates for the period before and after my previous blog entry, I've got myself a samsung digital camera at the recent IT show.... this was my first time attending the IT show with a purpose (to buy a digital camera).... hahah... it was damn crowded and judging from the laptops and the digital camera.... people are really affluent and have a thing for all the high tech gadgets... hhmmm.... well as for my digital camera, it's pretty slick looking being in black... and it has a set of in-built speakers for it's also a multi-media player that plays mp3 as well....
hahah.... anyway... thought it was a pretty good deal to get my digital camera at the IT roadshow cos there's qute a lot of goodie giveaway... managed to get 3 2gb memory card free and also some robinson gift vouchers.... hehehe.... probably will try the coming PC show to look at lap tops and other IT gadgets... hehhe..
Other than my new additions of gadgets and new hair cut, life has been pretty much the same... revolving around work most of the time and not to mention attempts to keep to my usual anime watching routine on the weekend.... right now i'm watching nodame cantabile.... an anime about university music students... pretty interesting and has introduced me to a few classical pieces.... music which i would not usually come into contact with....
I've also tried to watch "Akagi", an anime about a genius kid in playing mahjong.... think it's sometimes too Chim to understand the concept and how the plays are set.... errmps... think i'll continue to stick to my usual mahjong plays.... though i'm not always winning... hahahha...
Next, plans to take up japanese on the weekends has more or less been finalised except for which school to go to and when the lesson will start.... per discussion with AH LU, plans will crystalise probably in SEP.... hehe... so that'll be the start of my enrichment lessons.... hehhe.. can't wait for it to happen... hahahh
