New pay, bonus for the work year and new responsibilities

Just got my promotion letter as well as the notification of the ex-gratia amounts that was given to me for my my work performance.

The amounts are actually within my personal expectation and according to my colleagues, the amounts given are based on the performance grade given. Well, of course, i do hear from other colleagues who mentioned that other people from other units do not appear to be happy about their bonuses. Of cos, expectations are personal opinions and they differ from individuals.

But this is a big event that most colleagues anticipate and it's also a indication of whether they are happy in the firm or should there move on to another firm....

Anyways, as promised with JP and THS, will treat them to something after getting bonus......And not to forget all the relevant purchases that I've planned with my bonus.... hehhheheh

Me, tech geek??

Just yesterday, I bought a new 2gb mp3 player - Zen stone plus (white colour). It cost $99 which i thought was quite alright....See picture below for my zen stone plus...


Think it's a difference in the no. of songs between the new mp3 player compared to the one i own before this purchase. 128 mb vs 2 gb... hahhaha..... wonder how long it'll take for me to finish listening to all the tracks that i've loaded into the new mp3....

Summary

Just got my new haircut on saturday before the dinner meet-up with yun, val, mei and xuan. Thot of cutting my hair due to the my dried hair ends as a result of my previous perming and dying in addition to the terribly hot and humid weather.

But think my hair turned out alright.... hahha.... I tried asking for comments from my boyfriend.. but it seemed that he din have any comments since he had seen me with various hairlengths, from as short as boy cut to the longest length that i've ever had. hhehe...

The promotion list has just been released and congrats to all friends who have been promoted and bonus is to be based on the revised salary amounts since Jan'07. It's a good thing to hear that the bonus was to be based on the revised salary amounts, however, just wonder how many months will the bonus be? Still wondering how much will my bonus be this year cos i have some plans on how to spend it.... of course, the bulk of the money will have to be saved up... thereafter I would want to upgrade to a new handphone and maybe change to a incoming free plan, and also allocate a portion of the money for the purchase of my new laptop... well, have a laptop in mind actually... but currently is still thinking about the timing of the purchase... whether to get it at the PC shows if any at year-end or should i get it soon???

And also also considering if i should get a new mp3 player? such as the creative zen stone....but then again, there's still the consideration of colours.... judging from the various plans, it seems like i have rather materialistic plans for my bonus money.... hahahah..... i wonder if it's enough...

Since promotion list has been released today, i guess it's likely that the promotion and increment letters would be released on this Fri, the last working day of the month, just before the month of July. Well, hopefully can get good bonus for the year...

Rainy Saturday

The weather wasn't too bright and soon after we board the bus at Eunos.. the weather continued to look gloomy and we decided that probably a day of activities to be enjoyed in a sunny weather wasn't going to happen.... Our tanning objective wasn't going to be achieved.... and sure enough, it started to drizzle and gradually emerge to be a huge rainstorm....

By then, we had already settled down in Burger King going to eat our lunch... and of course, did some mindless shopping i guess.... but at the same time manage to spot potential laptop model that i could consider buying..... well.. as to what my final decision maybe... may have to wait for some time in the future... after my bonus maybe....

but other than laptop, i also found my potential new phone model to get when i finally decide to change my mobile plan and also upgrade my phone. heehee... it's potentially going to be a samsung again... but this time it may well likely be a sliding phone... as i haven't made my purchase yet.... everything is not final....hehehe...

after some walking around, finally decided to go to Broadway to get zx's convo gown and where he also decided to get the photography package. hehhe.. Anyway, I noted that the new gowns have velcro on them to help ensure that the gown is neat and the gown "sash" is not easily moved...hehz... which is something which i din have during the time when i was convocating.... anyway... Since zx is graduating, we were going to realise our promise to have a convo pictures taken in the studio.... hahhah....

By the way, been getting quite restless at work... haven't had the drive currently to push for work excellence...ahhaha... wonder if it's due to the want to have my vacation soon..... and training to going to start soon.... i definitely want to get some rest and holidays soon..... but i wonder if my planned holidays need to be adjusted... hehhz... currently just struggling to wait for my first 2 weeks of holidays to arrive.....

Another new start

Yupz... it's a new blog skin... but this time I've reverted back to the blog templates available in blogger instead of using the other blogskins that others have created and also the anime skins that I've previously used... hehhe.... guess I'm just a little too lazy to do any editing and searching...hahah...

Anyways, I've recently started another blog on my hobbies (趣味 pronunced as shu mi ) and have already posted some entries le... hahah... Friends or anyone who has the time can pop around and post some comments.....

Ok... it's slowly moving into the off - peak season... so think I should be able to post more blog entries... hhaha....meaning more time for me to do some self-reflections and also to do some planning.... still awaiting for holidays to come....

Since the start of GSS, have bought quite a couple of items and I do foresee that I'm going to buy some more items... hahah....Probably some more clothes, shoes and bags during the sale... of cos, i need to declare that I'm still in the search of a one-piece dress.... hahaha... Haven't seen anything that has prompted me to buy...hahah...

And for the past weekend, I also managed to get some time to surf youtube to catch up on some domoto kyoudai videos that others have uploaded. For those who may remember, before channel u there was a subsidiary channel set up by medicorp that airs the programme and also other jap programmes which was pretty short-lived. Essentially, domoto kyoudai is a variety programme hosted by kinki kids and they have guests on their show and they talk to the guests and get to know them.... Usually, kinki kids would have quite a few funny moments and funny talk.... and also interaction with their co-stars... Really kinda missed those days where tv actually aired these programs...haha....

On youtube, i managed to find a music video for this old english retro funky track called "mama used to say" by Junior. It's a funky tune that props you to lighten up... and actually the message in the song is kind of meaningful too... the chorus goes " And mama used to say, Take your time, young man... Finally when i tried to retrieve my legacy account on blogspot... think previously when i tried to reclaim... there were some glitches and in the end, I created two more blogspots... and now i dunno what to do with them....hahaha....

maybe i can do some other special blogging sessions... like my anime reviews and stuff... anyway, it's great to be able to get my old blog back... hahah = )

And right now, it seems that my current engagement does not appear to be too rushed... or rather the client is not rushing...hahah... so it's kinda rubbing on the engagement mood...hahha... and somemore client's situated in town where there's various shopping avenues readily available...... ahahha... and somemore GREAT Singapore SAle is starting real soon.... hahah

Anyway, hoping that it'll be my off peak soon..... I wanna go on holiday ne.... 休みしたい.......Want to be free and lazing around in my house or enjoy a relaxed afternoon window shopping or be at the seaside cycling with my boyfriend.... hehheh...

Yo... minna genki??

It's me again blogging on a saturday... finally on a weekend where i can do some of my personal stuff... heheh.... today i've went to the salon downstairs to cut my hair... now my hairstyle's somewhat like what i had maybe in jc period as per my AH LU.... hahhaha.... think it's still ok ba.... my hair's pretty dried and fried after my perming and hair dying stint... so i thought i might as well cut off the drying roots... and let my hair grow again.....

Updates for the period before and after my previous blog entry, I've got myself a samsung digital camera at the recent IT show.... this was my first time attending the IT show with a purpose (to buy a digital camera).... hahah... it was damn crowded and judging from the laptops and the digital camera.... people are really affluent and have a thing for all the high tech gadgets... hhmmm.... well as for my digital camera, it's pretty slick looking being in black... and it has a set of in-built speakers for it's also a multi-media player that plays mp3 as well....
hahah.... anyway... thought it was a pretty good deal to get my digital camera at the IT roadshow cos there's qute a lot of goodie giveaway... managed to get 3 2gb memory card free and also some robinson gift vouchers.... hehehe.... probably will try the coming PC show to look at lap tops and other IT gadgets... hehhe..

Other than my new additions of gadgets and new hair cut, life has been pretty much the same... revolving around work most of the time and not to mention attempts to keep to my usual anime watching routine on the weekend.... right now i'm watching nodame cantabile.... an anime about university music students... pretty interesting and has introduced me to a few classical pieces.... music which i would not usually come into contact with....

I've also tried to watch "Akagi", an anime about a genius kid in playing mahjong.... think it's sometimes too Chim to understand the concept and how the plays are set.... errmps... think i'll continue to stick to my usual mahjong plays.... though i'm not always winning... hahahha...

Next, plans to take up japanese on the weekends has more or less been finalised except for which school to go to and when the lesson will start.... per discussion with AH LU, plans will crystalise probably in SEP.... hehe... so that'll be the start of my enrichment lessons.... hehhe.. can't wait for it to happen... hahahh

久しぶりだね！

Hey ...hey.... it's really been a while since i've blogged my last entry here.... it's been nearly 4 mths + i think..... it's really been a busy period... with all the work to be done on the weekends and all the holidays.... hehehe... anyways.... As i am moving on to my next engagement, this is my only weekend which i think i have to time to blog whatever has happened to me during this period and also the possible future plans that i have in the remaining year.

In the past few months, i've close colleagues who have left the company and march into their new careers.. though it's sad to have these close colleagues leave but i'm happy for them too as they have found a better job which is better suited to the work-life they have in mind.

And definitely, to say that these departures have no impact on me is a lie.... hahahha... of course, i already had plans of leaving the company but when and what will be my next career path is also undecided. Thus, leaving me undecided... hehz.....

Next on my plan in the remaining year is to plan for my holidays.......yes, finally a faraway get-away from the sunny home of Singapore..... but dates, where is still undecided... but a decision hopefully will be made soon within the next 2 mths.... hahaha.... anyone who wants to come along mah??? with me and my "ah lu"....hahhah.....but before the trip, i would first need to get my digital camera so that i can have pictures of the fun memories i have on the trip....

Oh yar... for the past few months, i've also continued to buy and update my stock of music cds.... and the recent i-album by kinki kids which i bought, i thought the songs in it was really all cool and nice.....hahah.... and also the black cherry album by koda kumi.... the songs were pretty cool though the mtvs were pretty provocative as usual... hahahha....

Only during the Chinese new year holiday period then i have the time to watch some new anime that i haven't watch.... i've watched Eyeshield 21 which is about american football by jap high school kids.... as usual, in jap animes, there are always lots of interesting characters...hahah....but as the fan-sub haven't finish yet... i'm still stuck with the episodes before the x'mas bowl....hahahha

Anyways, i hope my next engagement will be smooth going and that there is no major need to work too much OT... hehhe

IT;s a change......

Yupz... after some time....i've finally made a "huge" change to my hair do.... hahhaha..... nope it has not been cut short... not like my secondary days when my hair was uber short just like a guy.... and it has not been rebonded...., with a bit of hair highlights.. now slightly brighter i guess and a touch up to the new portion of the hair that has grown after my last hair dying in July.......hahhaha.... my bf says he is still not used to my new look and i wonder if my new hairdo will make me look even more mature than before... ok, i know i already look mature for years le... but just hope that this hair would not make it worse... instead i hope that it'll be a new try and a refreshing outlook for me..... hahhahaha........ welll..... i'm not going to post any pics here...hahah... just wait till you'all see me in person at work, at meet ups, at trainings, or during lunch time...hahahha.... hope it'll wun be too negative ne....

Well, think i should thank my bf for having so much patience to wait for me for almost 4 hrs before my whole hair change was complete..... even the hairdresser was impressed with his patience.... yah..... come to think of it.... i guess his patience at waiting for me have been tested for many times or too frequent during the period of our relationship.... hehz.... and i really thank him for being so patient with me..... i wonder if it were other guys, would they have continued waiting without building up a temper at the end? or would they continue to wait patiently?? hehz......

Yupz.... it's the busy season of the year....so i've not been blogging as much and i dun have any urge to post any writings on the web either..... hahahah..... As usual, i'm surrounded by work, meetings with my bf and friends and also the latest tv programs.... Nothing has changed except that probably recently i feel a bit down at work.... hahah... wonder if this is a transitional thing? Recently, i've been watching shows on you tube and my bf had commented that i should try to do something more constructive on the net other than watching shows, mvs on the you tube cos it is not meaningful.

Well, i know where he's coming from but sometimes i just dun have any urge to do anything else meaningful... hehz... maybe could start enrolling myself in some courses at the cc or other places on the weekend.... but then it's kinda boring if i'm to go on the courses myself. Though i would like my bf to come along, i guess it's gonna be difficult as he has his studies to cope with... haiz... or maybe i should make an independent move by myself ne.... the CC near my home offers language classes such as thai and french which seems interesting...hahahah...probably thai is a good language to learn ne where in the near future if i go abroad with my friends/bf to thailand... it would help in the shopping trip and purchase bargaining.... hahhaha...

Recently, me and my bf have managed to purchase an old Aaron Kwok album in Yahoo Auction... well as my bf have been looking for the cd for some time and that the price of the album was reasonable and so we bought it..... hahah... think if there are some good purchases on yahoo auction for some really old and rare albums released in the early 90s..... so any one searching for old albums could try to find the cds at the auction websites.... hehehh....

Will try to update my blog as regularly as possible so that i'll still have some time to think and reflect on the things that i've done and possibly think of what i wanna do next.... jya... mata ne!

It's Mid week again

yup.. time flies when ur relaxing.... yeah... it's midweek already... 2 days since my leave started for the week...... hehz.... now that officially i only have 5 days of annual leave left.. the planning for year-end bangkok trip seemed to have come to a pause cos of the recent change in political situation..... hmm.... wonder how long will it last before a new government is established.....

Well... next on... for the past two days... i've been enjoying life i guess, watching tv... meeting my bf... going out for short walks... including today... planning to go to causeway point... hahahah... dunno if i'll get anything today... was supposed to help my mum get a shawl for her trip to genting in october...hahahha... I've made 3 pairs of earrings - the easy design ones...hahahh.... the images are a bit blur ne :

We're the champions!!

Yesterday was D-day for the inter-cpa netball games.... and as we were the defending champion from previous year.... there was a lot of pressure from the firm and also expectations from the other competitors.... and this year, the level of competition is higher than previous year .... but nevertheless... i'm glad that this year i participated in the team... cos i feel the team this year is really good and it really felt like a team play.... not that we've trained many times .... but overall the feeling was good... almost as if it was back to school days.. playing in the school team.. with everyone supporting each other, whether those on court playing or the others who are cheering on the bench......

Because it's been quite a while since i had such intense playing.... so my thighs and calves are aching right now...hahahha... but i guess it was pretty worth it...

Neglecting my other space... well....

hahhaha.... for readers of my blog space...hahah.. maybe y'all would have noticed that i've been updating my blogspace blog more than my msn space one... hahahah... well... the main reason for doing so is cos the ease of using blogger to blog.. or rather previously have many problems trying to access to my space and dunno what happened, the graphics and the lay out just does not come out right for my msn space... so decided to use blogger to blog more often instead...hahahah.....

Anyways, another update on the week's work..... well .... this week was the first week of my new engagement... though it was rush (had to finish in 3 days and all) i'm glad that the field work is complete (i think) haha..... guess that cos everyone was focused as the client does not stay late and therefore we can not stay late too..... the client is pretty nice, offering us food and drinks... also treated us to lunch too....and the client was cooperative, helping us to answer any query that we had.....

So i guess, this was not a bad engagement... Anyways, another huge thing that happened in work life is that the 3rd unit has moved up from the 3rd floor to the 31st floor le.... and this had definitely decreased the workspace per person for our unit.... hehz.... and the arrangement of the new lockers weren't space saving... hehz.... plus the number of ppl (70 plus) that came up versus the number of ppl (12) who went downstairs.... hehz..... so it's definitely terrible to be in office during this period of time.... super squeezy... no space to work...or setup lap top... hehz... I want more space....!!!!

Another week passed

This week was a normal week at work with the first 3 days at training.... which totally was a brain training one...hahaha... and yesterday just had my second training with my colleagues... and at the netball courts, managed to see a couple of ex-teammates who we will be playing against in the coming games.... hehhehe.... it's like 昔日的战友 今日的敌人... heeheh... Anyways, cos of the lack of exercise..... my legs and arms are aching again... but it wasn't as bad as the first training that i had in years during my first holiday at work... training for the unit games.....heheheh.....

Next week will be the "official" back to work week since i'm plotted on an engagement lasting for 2 weeks... which i wonder what we'll need to do.... dunno if it;s a june year end job?? or it's gonna be an interim?? but it's 2 weeks too long?? anyways, all the questions will be answered tml.....

Back to work - part 2

After the relaxing first week back at work, the second week has past.... it has been a busier week since i was plotted for work for another unit for the first 3 days....... hehz... I didn't really enjoy doing the work for another unit as I do not have any understanding of the entity and I had to help draft accounts in 2 different countries' (M'sia and HK) reporting standards..... hehz..... it's not easy and as i'm performing as another function..... i dun have any to help me.... my direct boss is the manager who is always busy and refers me to ask the clients or to settle myself since he says he's perfoming another function and he cannot review my work... hehz... so it was a sianz three days..... Anyway, I hope that the job will not come back and haunt cos i dun like it....

Anyways, for the next two days... i was busy helping to shift leadsheets for the next big job in the december year ends...... so it was relatively ok... but it was tiring on the hands and the eyes cos have to check the numbers and to shift using the mouses and various keyboard shortcuts.... and maybe insert new columns and change the dates.... but anyway... on friday, it was the department trip to tioman over the weekend... but being AS (as called by GHT)..hahaahha or rather I thinking it as being too troublesome that I didn't want to go to the trip.... hahhaha.... Ok... I know people is going to say that it's a lousy excuse..... but it's true...hahahah.... don't you think it's tiring and troublesome plus u have to work on Mon when you come back in the evening time on Sun after at least 7 hrs of traveling back......geez.... if the trip were part of the long vacation plans... i would have gone....hahahah...

Anyways, next year when my bf graduates... we'll both go on graduation tour ba... but haven't decide on where to go.. but guess we're both ok with touring asia... but then not japan and korea ba since my bf haven't started working yet....hahahha..... well, there's still quite some time before this actually materialise.. so we'll see where we go ba...hehehhe....

Next week will be first 3 days of training again.... yes... at least dun have to work late or go home late.... but need to be early and on time.... hehehh... which i am doing ok.... heheh....

My first week of work after the holidays

My first week at work was rather relaxing since i had trainings for the first 4 days and on friday was the annual community day at the company. Training was ok and beneficial... think i'll be able to perform my job with more understanding... haha... but as to it'll materialize... we shall see ba...hehehe

The more interesting event was the Community Day, this year was held at the Zoo and this year our unit's beneificiary were kids.... and it was 3 of us to a kid.... heheheh... though it seem that our work maybe lightened with the 3 of us... but it was still tiring... servicing our little "emperor"...hahahha... though there were possibility that we had to do the second shift..... in the end, there were enough people to handle the second shift of kids... so we were able to leave the zoo and proceed on to our next event (last minute decided), a KTV session. This was the first time i sang with connie, Manfred, WNS, Audrey.... together with RP and JP...hahaha... Have heard that WNS was able to sing and it does seem so when i heard him sing...hahahh.... but as i had a dinner date with my bf so i left early after singing 2 hrs of songs...hehehe.....

Next was the dinner date with my bf.... as we weren't hungry at first so we went around the amk centre vicinity... our first stop was tenchi comic shop...aim of shopping: to see if there's any dvds for slam dunk cos the current vcd versions seem to be spoiling with some episodes being not playable, next was to see if there's any copy of the character guide for Getbackers and also for Shaman king, and also to check out the price of the large version of the Slam dunk comic book. But in the end, there was no comic books nor dvds.... however, i got the prices for the slam dunk comic that i was looking for but it's gonna cost me $324 to collect the entire collection of 24 volumes @$13.50 each. This is something i need to consider first.... Dinner was later settled at Ramen Ten which both of us have enjoyed spicy ramen... i was enjoying my chicken katsu tom yam ramen..hahhahha my boyfriend was saying how i enjoy spicy and sour stuff...hehheeheh....Next while wondering around, there was a game shop and the games sold there were at a reasonable price.... i saw and i bought my 3rd ds game: Bleach: Souten ni Kakeru Unmei.... it's mainly game play involving during the period where Ichigo and friends goes to Soul Society to rescue Rukia.... hehehe... i bought it at $75 which i thought was reasonable since it was japan import meaning the instructions and words in the game were all in japanese. But since it's an RPG game and i know the story... guess it won't be that difficult how to play the game.... anyway, i think there will be online guides that other players who may contribute to give aid to how to complete the game... heheheh....

Final day of vacation

Hehz.... All good things will end someday and today is the last day of my long break....hehz.... when will i get the break again?? in another year's time mah?

Haiz... pinch me again... still in a vacation mood.... luckily for the first week back to work, i'll have trainings and also the company's community day... which i dun have to do any actual work yet...hehehe...that's a good thing in disguise though.... hahhaha... hmm... a review of the things done so far during my vacation:

1. Been to East Coast Park once for a short tan but in the end the weather didn't permit a tan...

2. Bought my DS lite icy blue together with 2 games: Brain age and Puyo puyo fever which came as a free game bundle with the console,

3. Baked my first cheese cake which was really too sweet hahahah since i followed the recipe which made use of condensed milk and cream cheese....

4. Went for a dip at the safra swimming pool which really was a long time since i've been to the pool....probably nearly to a year or so

5. Met up with my uni jap classmate who is going to go to manchester for her overseas exchange programme...

6. Been back to the uni to look at the carnival which is the usual event during the first semester of the academic year.... but it seems that the carnival this year is not really good and there seems to be fewer stalls than the prior years....

7. Cleaned up my messy room... though it still not yet fully cleaned up yet but it's still cleaner than before ... haahhahahh.... to think i spent almost 5 days cleaning up my room is really.... arrgh... Don't want to think about it......

8. Been to Mei's new place...wow... condo has quite nice facilities ne....hahahha....but the place is slightly far from my place ne...

9. Watched the national day parade at home with bf and family.... Yupz... it's definitly the fireworks that makes it exciting...

10. Had a dinner celebration with my bf for our anniversary at Billy bombers... the servings are really huge...haahahh

11. Oh yah.. i dyed my hair too...hahah... the whole head and not highlights... wonder if anyone paid attention to my hair...hahaha

12. Been to the treetop walk... it was quite a treacherous walk ne.... lots of stones and all.... plus me a bit scared of heights so the tree top walk was kind of scary for me.....

13. Been to the Ikea clearance sale... there are lots of ppl who buy quite a lot of things ne..... and things were considered cheap ne.... also discovered that there are shuttle services provided to certain areas on weekends....

14. Rented and watched a jap drama which i haven't done in some time... hahah the drama starrs YamaPi and Esumi Makiko....

15. Lastly, the last event of the vacation was a cycling trip at Pulau Ubin... which was really torturous to the butt as there were trails which was really rocky and plently of up slopes and downslopes that fully make u exercise ur legs...wonder if my legs are done.... hahahah.. after the trip was a delicious tze char dinner at tampines at one of the coffeeshop which Cinn and John introduce....ehhehe...

After reviewing the events, it seems that my vacation was still not bad...hahhah.. considering that i did not go overseas.... hehehh... but i'm alright and as promised with my bf... we'll go on his graduation trip next year when he graduates....hehehe.....

My DS Lite - ICy blue

I finally bought my ds lite on monday.... never thought i would buy my gadget at Funan...hahhaha... I thought generally that stuff sold at those big malls especially malls in the central area would be more expensive.... but it seems that there are exceptions...hahahha..... Anyway, i bought my set bundled with a free game.... but there are very little choices for the games to be bundled together.... hahaha... so i guess it's ok ba... at least i picked a pricier game...hahaha... Anyways.... cos of the new game that ihad, i finally learnt how to play sudoku... though i'm still not good at it... but at least know what's happening...hahahhah....

Well, need to say thanks for the trouble that Mei went through to provide with very detailed directions to her house but we still got a bit lost...hahahah... and also for the tremendous amount of food she prepared for us.... hahhah... the pasta is quite nice... but may need to have more sauce ba and more cheese....hehhehe...

It's a pity that Nana could only stay for a while and after sending Nana to her bus stop, the rest of us had a mini tour around the condo. Guess the "attraction" or the fun at the condo was the playground (rather the mini gym station for the elderly).... hahahah..... Can this be considered childish or does it seem like we're getting older??? hahahah.... Anyway, after the mini tour, we got back to our table set up at mei's place for the mahjong game.. which unexpectedly i turned out to be a winner....hehehhe.... and later on we got bored of the tile games and went on to play the game "A**h*** 大老二"....which was really a demonstration of "the rich getting richer, and the poor gets poorer" with the rules in place.....hahahah....

Anyways, Mei's place is quite cosy i think.. hahah.... considering that it's only her and her parents staying together.... though the location is situated on the northeast line and is nearer to Little India which may not be really convenient to go home or access on Fri and weekend nite times.... heeh... other than that, think the facitilites are not not bad..... ehheheh.... well... it's a bad choice to stay in a condo... but i guess i'll still stick with my ideal HDB home ba...hahahhah.....
